How does it work?

Elliptical pipes offer better aerodynamic characteristics with lower flow resistance. With the same cross-sectional area, they provide a longer heat transfer path, which enhances heat transfer and contributes a more compact structure.

Comparison of circular and elliptical pipes within the same air preheater

1. When the heat exchange area is the same, the spacing between the elliptical pipes is increased by 10-15MM.

2. When the flue gas flow cross-sectional area is the same, the heat exchange area of the elliptical pipes is increased by 17-22%.

3. CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations show that the velocity and temperature distribution around elliptical pipes is more uniform, which benefits the heat exchange efficiency of the pipes.
